The answer is no. There are no "built-in" sunscreens in spray tans, including Mystic Tan. If you are going to venture into the sunshine for an extended period of time, you must protect yourself with a sunscreen, no matter how many times you have spray tanned.

What can I do to make my Mystic Spray last longer?

The length of time your tan will last depends on how well you prepared before the session, and how you take care of your skin after the session. The most important aspect is to exfoliate before the session. The shallower the dead skin layer is, the longer it will take to fully build up and shed off. This means that the more perfectly you exfoliate your skin before spray tanning, the more even your tan will be and the longer it will last before fading. Additionally, moisturizing your skin every day will prevent premature exfoliation through drying. Ask a staff member which exfoliants and moisturizers are suggested to get the best results.

My First Tanning Experience...

I remember the first tanning salon I went to back in 2002, it was a tiny little “mom and pop” tanning salon called Caribbean Tan. It was pretty much a hole in the wall tanning place with small rooms that barely fit the tanning beds. Their basic bed was a 20 minute regular white bed with no facial tanners, there was no music expect for the boom box at the reception desk and each tanning room had a small little fan that hardly worked. The walls were all white except for the framed picture of the beach that was located in the back of the salon.

Tingle Tanning Lotions

Benzyl Nicotinate increases the skin cell’s microcirculation and oxygenation to produce deep, dark tanning results. Tingle products deliver a warming, reddening effect on the skin during the tanning session. Tingle lotions are great to tan those hard-to-tan areas of the body. Tingles are great for advanced tanners, but I would not recommend a tingle for new tanners, those with sensitive skin or those who handle young children.
