It’s Summer Time and the Sun is HOTT!

Whew it’s hot outside!! We all know Florida summer months are hot but filled with fun outdoor activates…whether it be St.Pete beaches, BBQ’s, parks, etc. Wearing your SPF is key to protecting your skin and keeping it healthy! Sunscreen should be applied 30 minutes before going outdoors. Even water-resistant sunscreens should be reapplied often, about every two hours or after swimming, drying off or perspiring. Sunscreen should be applied generously and evenly so as not to miss any areas of sun-exposed skin. It should be kept out of the eyes, and UV light-blocking sunglasses should be worn.

Sunscreens work by absorbing, reflecting, or scattering the sun's rays on the skin. They are available in many forms, including ointments, creams, gels, lotions, sprays, and wax sticks. All are labeled with SPF numbers. The higher the SPF, the greater the protection from sunburn caused mostly by UVB rays, but this does not increase the length of time for sun exposure. Broad-spectrum sunscreens protect against both UVA and UVB rays. They do a better job of protecting skin from other effects of the sun including photo damage, photo dermatitis, and rashes from the sun.
So before you step out of your house for a day of Fun in the Sun remember to put on your SPF and don’t forget to reapply!

Great times.. Not!

Last sunday I got to expierence Caddys for the first time. It was a great time but my day didn't end on the best note because I wasn't sure on where to park and I ended up having my car towed. Great times.. NOT! So this Sunday I decided to give it another try and had an AMAZING time. I went with our former Darque girl Michelle and met up with Ash too! We had a blast. I think we're planning on doing it again this Sunday so if anyone has the day off please come out and join us! Britt

My first Summer

Summer is almost here and I'm so excited!! This is my first summer I'll be spending in Florida and I hear they're pretty hot but loads of fun :) I've made alot of amazing friends since moving here from Ohio in September. Yes I'm one of the mutiple northerners that have invaded this beautiful state of Florida. I originally moved here for a boy (big mistake) but I can't totally regret it because it brought me here and I have truely met some amazing people. My fellow darqure girl Nicole and I are moving into our very own little beach apartment on Saturday and I couldnt be more excited!! Having the beach in your backyard isn't a bad way to start the summer :) Morris
