Vitamin D and Tanning

Tanning beds and Vitamin D go hand in hand, just like the sun and vitamin D. Humans make an estimated 90% of their Vitamin D from sun exposure to the skin, with UVB in sunlight triggering natural Vitamin D production. In effect, the tanning bed gives you the same emission as the sun but with a controlled level of UV and exposure, and thus less harmful, giving you the full benefit of Vitamin D. It is also interesting to note that the sun's rays, and thus UV, produce more serotonin, the mood-lifting chemical in the brain. So for a healthy body and a healthy feeling, come and soak up some rays at Darque Immersion Tanning!

Fun FACT:
Indoor tanning was invented in Europe in light-deprived northern European countries to help people realize the benefits related to regular UV exposure. It was a therapeutic exercise to help elevate Vitamin D levels.
